Michael Pershall was tragically taken from all who loved him on August 22, 2017 when he was struck by a drunk driver while riding his bicycle.

Michael was born September 7, 1978 in Santa Clara to his loving parents, Robert and Gayle Pershall. Michael is survived by the love of his life, best friend and wife of 16 years, Christine Pershall; his sons, Jordan and Chase Pershall of Modesto, CA; parents, Robert Pershall of Texas and Gayle Pershall of Modesto, CA; and his siblings, Brian Pershall, and Kyle Pershall of Modesto, CA, Brett Pershall of Huntington Beach, CA, Johnathan Pershall and Joseph Pershall both of Denton, TX.

Michael enjoyed coaching and mentoring youth, he spent countless hours investing in police explorer’s and their future in law enforcement. Mike was actively involved in community service for the city of Modesto where he served and protected the citizens of our community. He was an amazing father, husband, son, brother, and friend. His family meant the world to him, he was a really good man, and he was a great friend. Mike exemplified the traits that all police officers should aspire to be. He had work ethic, and humility, he was dedicated to protect and serve, and he set the standard that all should follow. If you truly want to be a good one, at whatever you do, you should BE LIKE MIKE. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Franklin & Downs Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Pershall family. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 29th, 2017 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home, 1050 McHenry Ave, Modesto, CA. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 30, 2017 at 11:00am, at the CrossPoint Community Church located at 1301 12th Street, Modesto, CA. There will be a procession to follow to Lakewood Memorial Park located at 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA.
